Discover the wonders of Chilean Patagonia with Explora, winner of the World Travel Awards “World’s Leading Expedition Company 2021” award for the third year a running. In a unique experience, you will connect with nature and yourself in one of South America’s remotest territories.
- The lodge, with 13 rooms, offers an exclusive, unique and remote atmosphere in this sector of Patagonia, where travelers can disconnect from their routines and connect with themselves and the nature that surrounds them.
- Our all-inclusive program includes accommodation, transportation, meals and drinks. And, of course, all explorations so you can discover every corner of this territory.
- In addition, this year the Explora lodge in the Patagonia National Park has been nominated in the categories of South America’s Leading Sustainable Lodge and Chile’s Leading Lodge.
- The Patagonia National Park is on the Carretera Austral, the iconic road that runs 1,239 kilometers from Puerto Montt to Villa O’Higgins, traversing the amazing landscapes of Chilean Patagonia.
- The landscapes that you can see as you explore this territory include thick forests, fjords, glaciers, canals, the Andes Mountains, spectacular rivers and turquoise lakes, among others.
- We have over 30 explorations to discover this territory in different modalities, such as hiking, overland crossings, biking, self-guided tours, high mountain outings and combinations with levels ranging from basic to advanced.
- The dining proposition and design is by two experts: Pablo Jesús Rivero – owner of the restaurant “Don Julio”– the 10th best restaurant in Latin America America according to the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2021 – and Guido Tassi, consultant chef to Don Julio.
- The dining experience stands out for its use of products of the day, where a brunch style lunch is an interpretation of the surroundings at their maximum expression, with a wide variety of vegetables, salads, stews and proteins roasted in a mud oven to choose from. Meanwhile, dinner offers the experience the rite of fire, very characteristic of the region and a tradition dating back to its ancient inhabitants.
- This park is the legacy of Douglas and Kristine Tompkins, who sought to preserve this place and are currently present through their foundation Rewilding Chile. We currently work with the National Forestry Corporation (Conaf), Rewilding Chile (formerly the Tompkins Reservation Foundation) and different organizations to protect the flora and fauna of the Patagonia National Park and thus create initiatives that address the negative impacts of tourism or natural factors. For this reason, a portion of the sales made at our lodge go to the Conaf and other organizations in the park.
