PROJECTS WE CONTRIBUTE TO
Up to 15% of the cost of your stay will go to support projects where our destinations are located Get to know some of them:
TORRES DEL PAINE
- ICEA Center: As a place that receives thousands of visitors, the Torres del Paine National Park requires a lot of support with cleaning and restoration of trails. Explora has actively contributed to this and other similar initiatives in the area, including reforestation following the terrible fires a number of years ago. We are currently working with local organizations to support important environmental initiatives aimed at the conservation of this world heritage site.
PATAGONIA NATIONAL PARK
- Rewilding Chile: As the heralds of the Tompkins legacy, we are working with Re Wilding to support its ongoing work for the conservation, monitoring, and reintroduction of native species in the Patagonia National Park.
EL CHALTÉN
- Association of Friends of the Los Glaciares National Park: By supporting this partnership, Explora joins the local community’s efforts to protect the incredible environmental heritage of the Los Glaciares National Park and improve the quality of trails and the visitor center.
- Te Mau o Te Vaikava: The Ocean is at the heart of Rapa Nui culture, and its protection and education about its cultural and environmental value is the mission of Te Mau o Te Vaikava. Explora has been supporting its efforts in both community education and the removal of plastics from coastal areas throughout the island since 2019.
ATACAMA
- Council of Atacameño People: Explora has been supporting the education of young students from Lickan Antay at the Andean Boarding School, a residence in the city of Calama for secondary students from rural areas, since 2008.
SACRED VALLEY & MACHU PICCHU
- ECOAN PERU (Andean Ecosystems Association): Over the last few years, Explora has been supporting ECOAN’s work in the development of community nature reserves, especially through the financing of seedlings and their planting in the community of Cancha Cancha. We are now actively working to resume our support for local environmental and cultural initiatives.
ANDEAN REGION
- Terevaka Archaeological Outreach: After many years as an iconic educational program for young people from Rapa Nui, Explora forged an alliance with the Terevaka Foundation and expanded it to the Sacred Valley and Atacama. Local communities in these destinations will now be able to conduct field research on crucial environmental and cultural issues, allowing them to explore their own heritage in depth.
